Iranica Journal of Energy and Environment (IJEE) is an international scientific journal published by Babol Noshirvani University of Technology. Manuscripts with significant research results in the areas of energy and environment and their application are welcome. IJEE appears four times, March, June, September and December every year considering the increasing importance of rapid, effective, international communication. IJEE shall consider papers for review process in research field related to energy and environment including:
- Water and wastewater treatment
- Biological and chemical treatment of industrial effluents
- Bioremediation
- Solid waste management
- Heavy metal removal
- Air pollution and emission
- Air quality and removal of particulate matters
- River and sea pollution control
- Renewable energy and biomass conversion
- Hydrogen and fuel cells
- Fuel Technology
- Environmental Biotechnology
- Biofuel and fine chemicals
- Bioindicator and biosensors for environmental assessment
Original research papers, review articles, technical reports and short communications in all aspects of Energy and Environment etc are encouraged to be submitted in Iranica Journal of Energy & Environment (IJEE) on the understanding that the work is not previously published or under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Authorship criteria

Iranica Journal of Energy and Environment (IJEE) adheres that authorship be based on the following four criteria:

  1. Substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work; AND
  2. Drafting the work or revising it critically for important intellectual content; AND
  3. Final approval of the version to be published; AND
  4. Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.
It is recommended to submit your manuscript through Journal online submission; You may contact to editor in chief for any query via email: [email protected], [email protected]
Authors are encouraged to suggest three potential reviewers for their paper. Authors may also specify the names of those they wish to be excluded from the review process for a particular paper; in such cases their wishes will usually be respected, unless, of course, in the opinion of the journal such a request unreasonably excludes all the expertise available to it in that scientific area.
IJEE’s Editor-in-chief ensures that the reviewers act independently and have no conflict of interest in the paper. In case of a complaint, editorial board, if it is deemed necessary and appropriate, may ask for additional reviews before making a recommendation. In all cases, the final decision rests with Editor-in-Chief. The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject papers that are unsuitable for the journal or cannot adequately be assessed because of a poor standard of English.
Manuscripts should be written in clear, concise and grammatically correct English. Indent new paragraphs. The manuscript should be presented in the following order. The recommended organization of an article is: (i) abstract, (ii) introduction, (iii) materials and methods (or experimental), (iv) results and discussion, (v) acknowledgements, if necessary and funding (in the form of a sentence with the funding agency written out in full followed by the grant number in square brackets) and (vi) references.
Manuscript should contain the article title, name(s) of author(s) and affiliation(s) and the name and complete mailing address (including telephone and fax numbers and e-mail address) of the person to whom correspondence should be sent. The title of the paper should be short, precise and written without any abbreviations. Headings should be upper case and in bold type. Sub-headings should be lower case and italics. It should contain an abstract of 150-200 words, without any citation and footnotes. A list of four to six keywords, of which at least three of them should not be appear in the title of the paper. Other footnotes, identified by superscript Arabic numerals, should be limited to dedications, an identification of the corresponding author and an author's present address.
Files should be formatted double-spaced with no hyphenation and automatic word-wrap (no hard returns within paragraphs). Please type your text consistently, e.g. take care to distinguish between '1' (one) and 'l' (lower-case L), and '0' (zero) and 'O' (capital O), etc. Articles should not exceed 8 printed journal pages. The number of figures and tables enclosed should be decreased as much as possible and the legend to them should not be repeated in the text.
Tables should be numbered with Arabic numerals (Table 1, Table 2, etc.) and cited consecutively in the text. Tables must be created with the table-function of MS-Word and should be enclosed on separate sheets of paper at the end of the manuscript, bearing the same number as in the text. Units (SI) must be clearly indicated for each of the entries in the table. Footnotes to tables should be identified by superscript lower-case roman letters and placed at the bottom of the table.
Figures should be cited in the text by Arabic numerals (Figure 1, Figure 2, etc.). Figures should be supplied as electronic files and should be enclosed on separate sheets of paper after tables. Also high-quality hard-copy of all figures and tables are needed. A figure legend should be supplied. Authors will normally be required to pay for colour illustrations and charge for handling and printing. IJEE does not require any payment or page charges for publication of the accepted paper.
In-line equations should be math-type as text. The use of graphics programs and 'equation editors' should be avoided. Use of Microsoft equation editor is recommended. Please avoid converting equations to images.
Bibliographic references in the text appear like [1, 2 ...], using square brace. References should be numbered consecutively in text.

Authors should follow internationally agreed rules especially those adopted by the IUPAC-IUB Commission on Biochemical Nomenclature (CBN). The journal will essentially follow the rules defined in the IUPAC Manua1 of symbols and terminology for physico-chemical quantities and units (Butterworth, London), 1970.
By submitting a manuscript to the editor or publisher you are deemed to have granted permission to publish the manuscript.

Author’s Original Manuscript (AOM)
The original manuscript before it is submitted it to a journal for peer review is termed as Author’s Original Manuscript (AOM). Authors are NOT allowed to share their original manuscript (AOM) anywhere; including in social media, personal websites, on a scholarly collaboration network or a preprint server meant for non-commercial use.

Accepted Manuscript (AM)
Once the article gets accepted by a journal, it is termed as Accepted Manuscript (AM). This version of the article has been accepted by a journal editor and has been through the peer review process. To encourage the citation of authors' work, they are allowed to post the Accepted Manuscript (AM) at any point after acceptance, given a link is inserted from their posted AM to the published article with the following text:

“This article has been accepted for publication in Iranica Journal of Energy and Environment. [Manuscript Number].”

Published Article (PA)
This is the definitive, citable, final version of the paper which has been typeset, had metadata applied, copyedited and allocated Digital Object Identifier or DOI. Published Article is the final version of accepted manuscript that is published online.
On publication, authors are allowed to link to the PA using the DOI or authors can post the article PDF on any non-commercial repositories and websites. Authors can link the PA after publication along with incorporating the below mentioned text:

“This is a final version of an article published in Iranica Journal of Energy and Environment on [date of publication], available at [Article DOI].”

Proofs will be sent via e-mail as an Acrobat PDF (Portable Document Format) file. Acrobat Reader will be required in order to read the PDF. This software can be downloaded from the following website:

This will enable the file to be opened, read on screen and printed out in order for any corrections to be added. To avoid delay in publication, corrected proofs should be faxed to the publisher within 48 hours of receipt. Publishing contents will be Online and if possible to send journal copy by surface or sea mail.

Please prepare your manuscript according to IJEE's format. Failure to meet the IJEE standard format will result postpone or rejection by the journal office.
